Fellowship Opportunity at Mission Community Woodshop
MCW is accepting applications for our inaugural year-long fellowship as we look to support furniture makers finding their way in this field.

The MCW Fellow will join a vibrant community of craftspeople in our shared space in San Francisco’s Mission District, with access to top flight machines and a supportive cohort of furniture makers.
Fellowship includes:
-
Workbench space
-
Wood and hand-tool storage
-
Consumables (glue, rags, sandpaper, etc.)
-
$2500/month stipend
-
Light teaching duties - 6-7 hours/week
-
Weekly mentorship meetings
-
Concluding show open to the larger MCW community
Interested woodworkers may apply by filling out this form.
A few additional notes:
*MCW is in its infancy. In just its second year, there are two dozen members who range from devoted hobbyists to professionals, and we also offer classes to the general public. Learn more about MCW here, and please reach out if you have questions.
*We are an inclusive and supportive community craft space and seek members who reflect the diversity of our city. People from under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
*Qualified applicants will have significant experience making fine furniture.
*Applications are due by June 15, 2026.
*We anticipate the fellowship beginning on September 1, but there is some flexibility.
